I recently purchased a 1 terabyte external hard drive and I believe I have found true love. I don’t know how I managed to live without it until now. It is a Comstar which was considerably cheaper than many other terabyte drives coming in at $150 from Futureshop including taxes. The full specifications are at Futureshop.ca
My biggest pet peeve with these drives is how they measure space. According to the specs it is a one terabyte drive (1024 Gigabytes) but the usable space is about 60Gb less because they measure it by 1000GB which is wrong but looks good on an ad. When you’re talking about 1 GB and you round it to 1000MB its not such a large difference but now that hard drives up to 2-4 TB are becoming available the difference is becoming pretty large.
However I still love my drive and can store my entire media library on it with a lot of space left over as well as easily transferring large files back and forth between computers now all I need is a media hub, Crunchpad and a better tablet (my little Bamboo is sorrily underpowered)
